Happy Twenty twelve !!

     Yet another year is here. Apart from your birthday, New year is the day that implicitly tells you that you are growing older and reminds you to recall your achievements so far. These are the times where everyone will ( come to you and ) wish you apart from your birthday, that way it is special.

      I do not understand why people prefer new year to take resolutions. May be because they perceive it as a fresh beginning. It is not only the time for resolutions but also for the evaluations and flooding Facebook notifications because of non stop tagging activity from friends. For some it is fun, for others it is freaky !! You may wonder why I didn't mention about the buzzing SMSes  and I know the reason why you don't ask me that question. ;-)

      Unlike last year this year I didn't come across the jokes about resolutions ( 1080 *780 ) . That's a relief. However I am missing the fun of listening to this one, " My new year resolution is not to take any resolutions" !!  As I said it is the time of resolutions, I have three this time. They are,

• I shall not put 2011 instead of 2012 on date column on the paper. ( Just a reminder ) 
• I shall start poking people on Facebook. ( It's been a while since I did it ) 
• Regular blogging.

     This morning people had wished me " Happy New Year and it is going to be a big year for you " . I lately realized that it is certainly going to be big because it is a leap year with one extra day as Feb 29th. I already started disliking this year because it falls on Wednesday i.e, one extra WORKING DAY !! 

   

     New year, It is the perfect time for some businesses to do more business. As many people's resolution are to right size their shaped out bodies, Gyms and dietitians could grab this opportunity via some cool promotional activities to attract the aspirants. In this regard, I have already observed the smoking substitute products being aired on TV since the last two days. #WIN

     Before I conclude I just wanna tell that it is just another day ( date indeed for some ) for those who say so but I bet those were the people who celebrated new year like a big day few years ago or may be a year ago and for the socially excited people it is just another excuse to enjoy and spend money lavishly :D 

Finally, I just wanna wish that this year is going to be a Happy News Year for you. All the best :)

The Salesmenship !!!

    It's my first job infact as a part of my summer internship. I don't know wheather it is my perception towards insurance agents or selling job. I dislike it strongly.. but I took it as a challenge .
   As the days go on I find it little easy task. It helped me to sharpen my negotiation skills in particular .

     But the most important thing that attracted me was the strategy adopted by IDBI federal manager Mrs.Shanthi . She knew very well how to make sales in insurance industry. As the insurance industry works on NETWORKING . If you have a huge network you will be able to sell more and more . She believes it , I guess. She recruited as many interns as possible for sales and market research. She gave Target to everyone of certain amount with which she was able to make huge sales in less than two months . I was like, "what an idea madam ji "!!
  Generally people sell things to customers by showing some benefits in return but as an insurance salesperson I am making sales apart from showing benifits ,I sell insurance by threatening them about the future ;-)
Interesting right ?
      I was always thinking that I could convince anyone. But, I was wrong. I experienced NOs while approaching few people. Because u can't sell a product unless there is a demand ( basic concept ,I learned).
       I experienced first YES today. I'm so happy about it . There is a long way to go .. I hope , I can experience more Yes in the future . I am learning new things everyday in this salesmenship . I think, Great help it is, for my career  ..:-)
